Student
Academic Partnership –“Chinese Voices of Social Care”:
Dissemination of project findings
School of Social Work, Allied and Public Health
We are
delighted to announce that Dr. Anna
Tsaroucha and Dr. Martin Partridge
are going to be working with Miss Simeng Zhou, a level 5 Human Resources
student and Mrs Arlete Smith, a level 5 Social Work Student on a Student Academic Partnership
in order to disseminate the findings of a recently completed research project
which explored the satisfaction of social care amongst disabled people from
Chinese backgrounds in England. The study was project-managed by Dr. Partridge
and was funded by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR).

The
dissemination process will involve the student partners travelling across the
West Midlands to various Chinese community organisations to present the project
outcomes, as well as presenting key findings to students and staff across partner
Universities. Both student partners have Mandarin, Cantonese and English
languages, which will optimise the dissemination process. They have been
contracted to work on a job share basis. This project is an excellent
opportunity for the students to develop new and transferable skills working
alongside two highly qualified research academics and gain valuable research
and scholarly experience. Both students will also enjoy the opportunity of
being able to co-author articles related to the project. Finally, there is a
potential benefit for the Social Work Programme Award where this dissemination
process will open and develop new links and networks for future student
placements.
